OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING
My morning started out just like every other morning. 6:30 alarm, take out the dog, bring in the dog, feed the dog, take out the dog again and then finally coffee in bed with Merideth, Al, Matt and Anne ....the remaining 15 minutes of quiet time before waking the boys.
I had two very nice conversations on the phone with a dear friend and a new friend. Made running plans for tomorrow with one.
I enjoyed a blueberry muffin, filed my nails, and spoke with my mother in-law, Jackie. I threw in a load of laundry and changed out a light bulb, made the beds and then I finally got dressed into my running gear.
My goal for today was to run two separate trails in two different parks. I started on Johnny Cake Ridge Road, a walking trail, biking trail, and skiing trail. I started out on the walking trail with no peticular route in mind. Actually, not a very smart thing to do...but I guess I wasn't being very smart because I ran by myself too. Something I don't like to do in unfamiliar places, but it presented itself to me as a challenge. If you know me and my imagination.....the adrenalin fueled my fire to only run faster and think like a deer, running and hopping through the woods while being chased. I also sang in my head...I will love you Lord with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, with all my strength...over and over and over........Unless you run trails, maybe you wouldn't understand. I'm sure Rendy and David are reading this and shaking their heads while giggling.
It was a short 26 minute run.......but very rewarding.
I then drove to Lebanon HIlls, and ran a quick 2.25 mile trail. What a beautiful trail. This trail surrounds the lake and it's just picturesque. Imagine white birch trees, hills, and wildlife all canopied underneath a blanket of magnificant color.
As my mother would say...this is the day the Lord hath made, rejoice in it. This trail was a little familiar to me and it was now time to enjoy the scenery all the while pushing myself to go fast. I had Osa in the car waiting for me to take her walking on the trails.
As I ran I thought of the trails in Henderson, KY at the Audubon State Park and a flood of good memories filled my head. I thought of many friends and how nice it would be to be back amongst them. I thought of friends that we didn't get to see very often, but because we read their blogs they feel like family. So for anyone reading my blog, this is an open invitation to see what Apple Valley, MN is like and how the Hagen Family is doing.
